Cookie Policy
This page covers cookies and similar browser storage. Cookies can be sent to a website with requests. localStorage is browser-held site data and is not automatically sent with every request like a cookie.
1. Current use
The first-party hitohira:lang cookie remembers the language most recently viewed. Its expiry is reset to 1 year (365 days) whenever a localized page opens. The root homepage uses this preference first when choosing a language; the actual page language remains determined by its URL. This cookie contains no answers or results. Individual quiz answers are processed in the current page's memory, not saved to cookies, localStorage or sessionStorage. Completion counting does not use tracking cookies. A new random identifier generated for each completion is used only to avoid counting the same request twice.
2. Previously saved consent choices
If you previously made a choice in the consent banner, your browser may retain a localStorage entry called hitohira:consent, containing an accept or reject choice. It contains no answers or results. The code sets no automatic expiry, so it remains until overwritten or cleared. If browser storage is blocked, the current choice is used only within the page.
3. Optional analytics and advertising
Google Analytics, a Google Tag Manager container and AdSense advertising scripts are currently inactive, so no consent banner is shown for those tools. If optional tools are enabled later, we will update this notice and provide the relevant choices. The existing Google consent mechanism defaults to denied; a consent setting alone does not guarantee that a third party never receives a network request. 4. Managing browser data
Your browser's site-data settings let you view, block or delete site cookies and local storage. Clear hitohira:consent or this site's data and reload to stop applying a previous choice. If optional tools are then enabled, you will be offered a new choice. Blocking necessary security functions may affect loading. Clearing local data does not delete previously sent emails, aggregate completion counts or service-provider records.
