Once you've said what you need, listen to how the other person is willing to take part too, so the connection doesn't depend on one side guessing.

Find someone you want to reach out to, and someone it makes sense to reach out to, tell them one small thing that's happened lately, and ask if they'd like to talk when it's convenient. If there's no one that fits right now, you can just write down what you'd want to say — you don't have to force a conversation for the sake of this card. Last, check on the needs that ranked lower for you: company can exist alongside your own goals, quiet time, or freedom to choose. Keeping someone in mind also means respecting the time and distance each of you can actually give.
